BERGAMA
Bergama is the most famous ancient carpet weaving
center. Pure wool carpets of the region still have the traditional
designs of centuries. Geometric patterns, dominating red color and
limited standard sizes are features of Bergama carpets
which are normally in the ceyrek and secede
(prayer rug) sizes, rarely larger. Bergama is the still main trading
center for numerous nearby villages and settlements in the area. There
are nearly eighty rug weaving communities in the region. Bergama rugs
of Bergama include the 'Kiz Bergama' apparently bridal rugs made by
young girls for their wedding.

YAGCI
BEDIR
The pure wool Yagci Bedir carpets, produced in the
mountain villages of the Sindirgi region in the Aegean , are some of
the best quality of their kind. Carpet weaving is an important
economical factor in the lives of inhabitants this region.Geometric
designs, stylized birds and floors, stars are most typical patterns on
the Yagci Bedir Rugs. The warp, weft, and knots of the carpets are
made of pure lamp's wool of high quality. The short clipped and
densely knotted knots cause the pattern to be easily seen on the pile.
This beautiful West Anatolian carpet is always woven in its unchanging
colors and patterns.

KULA
Kula is located on the road from Izmir to Usak. Although the
rugs made there resembles the rugs of Gordes, Kula has developed its
own style by the vertical arrangements of the motifs. Kula weavers
also created carpets with very dark ground known as Komurcu Kula. Due
to their quality, Kula rugs have became one of the most desired
carpets in foreign countries in last 150 years. Present day weavers of
this town not only reproduce the splendid Kulas of the seventeenth and
eighteenth centuries but also weave authentically Anatolian designs
with soft pastel colors.

MILAS
The Milas (Melas) carpet with its pastel colors and fine
compositions has an important place in Anatolian carpet production.
The warp, weft and knots of Milas rugs are pure wool. The dominant
colors are tobacco color, dark and light brown, and reddish brown.
Contemporary Milas carpets are made in pale, delicate tones
produced with vegetal dyes. Milas Rugs can be examined in four
distinct types: the praying rugs with a lozenge shaped arch, Medallion
Milas, the antique Milas woven in bright colors and Ada Milas with its
restrained design.
