KARS
Kars is a provincial capital in the extreme northeast of
Turkey. It was under the Russian control for a while during its
history. Kars rugs shows strong Caucasian influence. Cold climate of
Kars gives the advantage of obtaining strong and durable wool. The
traditional patterns are large geometrical designs. The brown on the
Kars carpets in the natural color of the sheep.
