People in the
Orient, instead of using large carpets which covered the whole floor, they
preferred using small size carpets, put side by side. This gave them some
advantages. When they moved to a smaller or bigger house, they added or take
away some of the carpets. When one of the carpets were damaged, they replaced
it with another carpet instead of changing the whole floor. Because of these
practical reasons each size carpet is named according to its traditional
position on the floor or the purpose for which this rug is made.
